What does the Tuf-Barrier cost?

The Tuf-Barrier is priced by the lineal foot depending on height and color.  In comparison to the most commonly used noise barrier materials the Tuf-Barrier is priced between lower cost wood and more expensive concrete barrier walls.  In terms of cost of ownership, the Tuf-Barrier quickly becomes a cost effective replacement for wood noise barrier wall as the Tuf-Barrier does not require any ongoing maintenance or painting.  While a wood sound barrier is subject to rot and wear with a limited life time.

How much will the Tuf-Barrier reduce the noise.

The level of noise reduction for the Tuf-Barrier as with all noise barrier walls is subject to many factors.  The terrain, type of noise and other localized conditions can greatly affect the noise reduction of a noise barrier wall.  For specific situations you are advised to consult a sound engineering specialist to answer questions about noise reduction for your project.  As a good rule of thumb, reductions of 5-15 decibels are reasonably attainable in most situations.  More noise transmission loss may be possible through the correct height selection and placement of the noise barrier. How is the Tuf-Barrier installed?

The Tuf-Barrier at heights up to 8’ can be installed similar to standard fence by cementing our steel reinforced H-posts into the ground and placing the tongue and groove rails within- a fairly uncomplicated installation.

For heights above 8’ an I-beam post stiffener is used to provide added strength up to 30’ high.  For this type of installation an engineer should be consulted to determine factors such as post depth, pour size, soil conditions etc.
